Several of these photos were made in May 1954 at the Artists Equity Association’s Annual Spring Fantasia Masquerade Ball. Tina Louise, “actress, mother, friend. Still living on an island (Manhattan)” was “Queen of the Ball” and Steve Allen was the Master of Ceremonies. The non-profit Artists Equity Association was founded in 1947, (Ad Reinhardt designed a flyer for their party and ball in 1947) “by artists and art patrons with the mission to promote opportunities for artists.” Nevertheless, Happy Halloween…
