The first 45 RPM vinyl single was released 60 years ago, in 1949…
(And today is Record Store Day…)
Weegee photographed Art Ford fooling around, for a magazine feature, in the WNEW radio record library and studio.
78s and other sound recordings made in the acoustic era can still be heard live on the radio here…
And free good music, including 78s and 45s, can be heard here…
